Souls-Like Metroidvania The Last Faith Is Getting A $50 Collector’s Edition

Metroidvanias are everywhere these days, but if you’re looking for a rock-solid fusion of that genre with Souls-like gameplay, then you can grab a preorder for the upcoming physical release of The Last Faith. While the game was released last year as a digital-only title for $28–you can get it for $21 at Fanatical–anyone looking to keep a physical collection can get their hands on a standard and special-edition release next month.

Arriving on May 24, the Nycrux edition of The Last Faith includes a softcover art book, a download key for the game’s soundtrack, and several cards showing off some gothic concept art. This collector’s edition is priced at $50, while the standard version without any of the extras will cost you $30.

Essentially a retro-styled, side-scrolling Bloodborne, The Last Faith has a Metascore of 72 on GameSpot’s sister site Metacritic. A challenging adventure with a dark design that pays homage to the games that inspired it, The Last Faith doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it’s still a solid mix-tape of action-packed fun. It has a non-linear world to explore, cool weapons to collect, and moody pixel art. If you are a Castlevania fan or enjoyed the Blasphemous series, The Last Faith is worth checking out.

“Step into The Last Faith’s ravaged world as Eryk, awakens with no recollection of his immediate past,” the synopsis for game’s plot reads. “Soon he will discover he is in a race against time as his mind and conscience begin to deteriorate. His desire for salvation from this affliction sets him on a cursed mission that crosses paths with ancient religions and divinities.”

If you’re on PC, you can get a 25% discount through Fanatical right now, and The Last Faith is playable on Steam Deck.

Disclosure: GameSpot and Fanatical are both owned by Fandom.
