A new job listing from Sony indicates that a new ‘AAA’ title is being developed in collaboration with The Last of Us developers, Naughty Dog. According to the job listing, the “currently unannounced” game is being developed in partnership with PSS Visual Arts, an award-winning, full-production group, that specializes in animation, motion capture, cinematics, art, and scanning.
The listing goes on to say that the “high visibility project is being developed in collaboration with Naughty Dog”. Sony states that they have a clear vision for the upcoming title and are seeking a “dedicated, focused, and self-motivated producer with a broad proven experience and a track record of building processes to help the team achieve its highest potential”.
Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t give any further details on what the new title could be. However, it does state that the ideal candidiate will be proficient in all aspects of AAA game production and management, whilst also having at least two AAA titles published as a Senior Producer. It’s clear that Sony is searching for somebody with plenty of experience on big triple-a releases.
The upcoming title also wouldn’t be the first time that Naughty Dog and PSS Visual Arts have worked together. Just recently, the two studios came together to release a remake of The Last of Us: Part 1, an incredibly popular PlayStation title that was developed by Naughty Dog and released for the PlayStation 3 back in 2013. A PlayStation 4 remaster was released the following year, followed by a sequel, The Last of Us: Part II, in 2020.
Naughty Dog and PSS Visual Arts’ latest venture is still likely some years away, considering Sony is still on the hunt for a Senior Producer, the game is possibly still in the early stages of development. With huge franchises such as The Last of Us, Uncharted, and more under Naughty Dog’s belt, it’s unknown as to whether this new project will be a completely new IP, another remake, or possibly a sequel.
