Sony is killing Concord on September 6 and issuing refunds

It would appear that this particular Concord did not so much fly as it arced momentarily upwards before flopping back to the ground. Only a couple of weeks after the team-based FPS launched on PC and PlayStation 5, a post from Firewalk Studios head Ryan Ellis is live announcing that the game is being pulled from digital storefronts and service will be shutting down as of September 6th. Refunds are available automatically via the PlayStation Store where applicable, or directly through retailers including Steam and the Epic Game Store.

The post states that the team at Firewalk Studios will be “exploring options” rather than outright stating that the game is dead, although those with long memories will likely recall this is rarely a state of affairs that results in a relaunch. While Concord had a big marketing push, it failed to connect with players and boasted low player counts immediately on launch despite decent critical reception. Our condolences to the developers and fans who are losing a game they enjoyed this quickly.
