Sega announced both a pre-order bonus for the new Sonic the Hedgehog game Sonic Superstars and revealed a developer interview at the June 2023 Sonic Central presentation. People who commit to a copy of the game will get a Lego Eggman skin for Eggman. This is to commemorate the new Lego Sonic sets launching on August 1, 2023. As for the interview, it features Sonic Team Creative Officer Takashi Iizuka and Sonic Superstars Producer Naoto Ohshima discussing the game.
The interview between Iizuka and Ohshima is almost four minutes long. They talked about its inspirations, challenges that arose when making it, Emerald Powers, four-player co-op, and the return of Fang the Sniper as a character. While their responses to each “question” are rather short, they offer insight into the development process for this new installment. The two also discussed getting to work together, before closing out the interview with a message for potential players.
Next, here’s a peek at how the Lego Eggman pre-order skin looks for Sonic Superstars.
