Slime Rancher 2: All Secret Door Locations

Slime Statues and Slime Doors were introduced in Slime Rancher as a unique way to access certain parts of the later game content. Monomi Park has continued to run with this mechanic in Slime Rancher 2 but with more fever.

Unlike the original game, these are no longer a late-game staple, nor are there only a handful of them. In Slime Rancher 2, Slime Doors are everywhere and the Slime Statues that accompany them are even more prominent.

Rainbow Fields

The Rainbow Fields area has only 1 Slime Door available to ranchers. It is located behind the Phosphor Gordo in the cave, and the Slime Statue is a Tabby variety and only needs 1 Tabby Plort to open it. A Treasure Pod is gained by unlocking this Slime Door.

Ember Valley

Upping the number of Slime Doors to 2 is the Ember Valley. Players will need 4 Slime Plorts, however, to open both gates. The first plort type needed is a single Batty Plort, and the second Plort type is Boom Plorts. You’ll have to wrangle 3 of them to open the second door, but don’t worry. Both Plorts can be found in this region relatively easily.

Upon warping to the Ember Valley, players should pull a complete 180 from the direction they face on the original wap pad. Once facing the Slim Sea, look down for a small ledge, and drop to it. Here you will find a Batty Slime Statue and a Slime Door. Give the statue a Plort and viola. This area has a treasure pod inside.

Down the right side of the road from the teleporter is a cave system that is hidden by some rocks. Hop into it and follow the pathways until you find an area with a Boom Slime Statue on a ledge near the Slime Door on ground level. Look around the ceiling of the cave system for the other 2 Boom Slime Statues, and once they each have a Plort, the Slime Door will open revealing more of the cave system leading to the Rock Gordo.

Starlight Strand

Boasting the lion’s share of the Slime Doors is the Starlight Strand. Ranchers will need 6 different Plort types to open all of these doors, and 13 Plorts total. All required Plorts can be found in this area. Players will need 1 Angler Plort, 1 Flutter Plort, 1 Honey Plort, 1 Pink Plort, 2 Phosphor Plorts, 2 Rock Plorts, and 5 Hunter Ports. Don’t worry about vacpack space. Most needed Plorts can be found close to where their respective statues are.

Behind the main warp pad a Rancher first unlocks is a Slime Door. On the other side of the wall, is a corresponding Hunter Slime Statue that will unlock the Slime Door. It’s a shortcut between areas that eliminates jetpacking over the wall.

Head south from the warp pad to an area with a stream in the blue region. Here on the side is a small cave with a Honey Slime Statue above the Slime Door. Feed the statue its own Plort and the beginning of a shortcut between the pink and blue area is done.

On the Pink side of the region is a Rock Statue in another stream area. The Slime Door here is the other half of the Honey pathway. Give one of the two Rock Plorts up here, and now there is an underground shortcut for moving around the Starlight Strand.

Two Phosphor doors are next to each other in a cave behind the Honey Gordo. Donate to each Phosphor Slime Statue one to the two Phosphor Plorts, and another shortcut is opened to the player. Be careful with this one though. It does have openings in the ground, and an unsuspecting player can fall into the Slime Sea in the blink of an eye.

In the Honey Gordo area, another Slime Door that’s not spotted out in the open can be found. Behind the waterfall is an Angler Slime Statue next to a Slime Door. Feed the hungry stone fish an Angler Plort to open the Slime Door next to it. Here you will be able to walk up a ramp to get a Treasure Pod.

Above the Feral Rock Slime area is a small rock ledge in between some large tree roots. On the ledge is a Slime Door with an accompanying Pink Slime Statue. Put the Pink Plort in the statue and open the door to reveal an area beneath the Great Split Tree.

Underneath the Hunter Slime and Hunter Largo area is a Slime Door. It’s another demanding one as well needing 3 of the 4 remaining Hunter Plorts. The Hunter Slime Statues are tucked away on nearby ledges. Camouflaged like their living counterparts. This Slime Door also opens into a cave system that can be used as a shortcut but keeps Treasure Pods within as well as another Slime Door.

Southwest of the Hunter Slime Door is a sandbar area leading to tide pools. Here facing the Hunter area is the second Rock Slime Door. After tossing in your last Rock Plort, the door will open into the cave system accessed from the Hunter Door. This is a shortcut of sorts, but will also lead a rancher to another Slime Door within this cavern.

Another Hunter Plort is needed in the cavern between the Rock and Hunter Doors. Nestled away in the caves is a Slime Door with the Hunter Statue above it. Hand it your 5th and final Hunter Plort, and let the door fall to reveal a surprise to the tenacious Rancher that makes it here.

Last is the one most players don’t know about. At the edge of the Easternmost sandbar is the Flutter Slime Statue. Only those with jetpacks that have 150 energy should attempt this door but having 200 would be safer. You must climb a series of pink coral stairs at the southern part of the sandbar leading toward the white cliffs. Here an experienced Rancher can hover towards a small ledge on the inlet to find this hard-to-access Slime Door.
