Sure, Silt’s creators, Spiral Circus Games, are selling it as a puzzle adventure, but going by the trailer there’s plenty of disturbing sub-aquatic encounters to be had. Not unlike Limbo, it sports a monochrome aesthetic, casting you as a diver who plunges into the deep in search of “long-forgotten mysteries”.
Sure, maybe the reason they’re long-forgotten is that everyone who went looking was devoured by aquatic beasties, but why let that stop you? Your diver does have the ability to control sea creatures; the trailer, for example, shows them using an electric eel to solve a puzzle. So maybe, under your guidance, they won’t be lunch.

And, we have to admit, giant monsters or not, Silt looks absolutely gorgeous, even when a colossal leviathan is attempting to impale you on its massive, massive teeth. Monsters aside, you should get some monster-free exploration time, though we’re not going to be able to forget about the nasties lurking just round the corner.
And then there’s the soundtrack. Even though the trailer features a brief chunk of Silt’s soundtrack, it still managed to give us the chills, so much so that we’re hoping it’ll be available to purchase separately.
Whether that’s the case or not, you won’t have long to wait to get your hands on Silt. It’s set for a June 1st release, landing on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch. You can check out the trailer above or wishlist it on Steam here.
