A new statement from Bloober Team has rejected rumors suggesting that the upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2 is ready to release. The studio revealed that the development process continues as long as the team ensures that it can deliver the game at the highest quality.

Last week, a Polish outlet shared an interview with the CEO of Bloober Team, during which the studio head confirmed that the game was “technically ready,” but now the official statement from Bloober Team reveals that it didn’t mean the game was ready to launch, blaming inaccurate translation as the cause of this misunderstanding.

“It is also not true that we have announced that Silent Hill 2 is ready for release,” reads the statement. “Regardless of the development stage, all of our activities are focused on obtaining the highest quality for the finished product – the quality that fans of Silent Hill 2 deserve.”

Furthermore, Bloober Team also explains that the sales forecast that went viral as the target sales for Silent Hill 2 Remake were also incorrect as well. The developer clarifies that it was only a reference to the potential success of games in the same genre as the Silent Hill 2 Remake that the studio will be focusing on in the future, and it does not represent any financial targets for any specific title.

Later on, Bloober Team promises that more details will be shared on Silent Hill 2 Remake at the right time. “We are aware that players are waiting for more information about Silent Hill 2,” the statement reads. “As soon as such information becomes available, we are sure that Konami, the publisher for the game, will share it with fans.”

Silent Hill 2 Remake was officially announced last year, but the game doesn’t have a release window just yet. Konami has already greenlit a number of new projects from the Silent Hill franchise, all of which were teased last year during a dedicated showcase. However, none of the projects have a solid release date yet.

While Bloober Team developers have shared some important details about the remake of Silent Hill 2 and their approach to this highly popular horror experience, Konami has been tight-lipped about the project since the announcement.
