Hateno Village is full of new quests and discoveries in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. After the time between the sequel and its predecessor Breath of the Wild, new leaders have stepped up to become mayor of the village. Two figures are joining the election, named Cece and Reede. Both have good qualities, but also dark secrets. But who do you vote for? If you’re wondering if you should pick Cece or Reede in Tears of the Kingdom, we have an answer for you.
While you may believe at first contact with Hateno Village that you have a choice in the matter, you technically don’t. There are a few quests that lead to the start of the election, which will begin if you chat with Cece in her store. You’ll notice Reede walking in, and you can tell there is some rivalry. Cece will eventually ask Link who he plans to vote for in the upcoming election.

If you decide to say Reede, Cece won’t be happy with that answer and will kick you out of the shop. To actually progress in this quest, you need to head back inside and say you’re voting for her. There are some goodies in store once you complete these quests, so don’t worry. The quests that you’ll need to start to progress the election are listed below.

Now that you’ve completed all the required Side Adventures, this will start ‘The Mayoral Election’. Speak to Sophie on a sunny day to begin. During this election, Cece and Reede will start fighting, until their secrets are revealed. Finally, they decide to make peace with each other for the good of the village.

Head back to Cece’s shop, and she’ll reward you with a Cece Hat. Not only that, but she’ll start selling new attire, such as the Hylian Tunic and the Royal Guard Uniform! You finally know the answer to whether you should pick Cece or Reede in Tears of the Kingdom. Although you sadly don’t have a choice of voting, the outcome from these quests are worth it.
