Skull and Bones has recently delivered its first season, Rising Tides, and with it, new enemy encounters with the Plaguebringers. However, many players have complained about the quantity of ships that are harassing their vessels.
Before Rising Tides, Kingpins were able to fully collect their goods in the different regions in a timely manner, even with other ships routinely attacking them. Having to defend yourself and your cargo whilst collecting Po8s (Pieces of Eight) was a decent enough challenge, but did leave players with enough time to enjoy many other aspects of the game.

Now, players are constantly being harassed with a huge surge of armored ships and the new Pestilence Ships. What’s more, is that players are reporting that upon destroying enemy ships, even more simply spawn in to join the fray.
One player shared that what usually is a 40 minute cargo run was inflated into a 3 hour session as they were repeatedly attacked by Pestilence ships and other armored vessels.
Clearly this is Ubisoft’s attempt at making things more difficult. But more doesn’t exactly mean better, especially when being forced to fight waves and waves of the same enemies. It grows very tiresome, and any player wanting to get back in will hesitate at the thought of having to trowel through even more of the same fights when simply wanting to get from A to B.
A better approach would be to make the ships more difficult themselves, not just throw a bunch of them at the player. It inflates play time without providing anything fun, fresh, or meaningful. It is especially irritating when it wasn’t this bad before the season.
Players are now worried that this is how the game will be for the foreseeable future, and many don’t want a part in it.
Many are very upset at the current state of enemy spawns. If you find yourself in the same pickle, then you’ll want to have the best loadout possible for your ship.
