Shadows of Rose — How to get the gold mask

In Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose, the third and final mask you’ll need in the first section is the gold mask. Getting to it is a bit trickier than it would initially seem, however, as you need to look around carefully and be aware of the enemy spawns to avoid taking any damage. This guide will break down exactly what you need to do so you’ll get the mask quickly and without getting hurt.

Spotting the cores makes this one go much quicker, so keep your eyes peeled.

Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose — How to get the gold mask

Once you’re facing the mask by the staircase leading up, look to your left and you’ll see a core. Use Rose’s ability to focus on it and it will crumble to dust. Afterward, an object will fall into the red growth. Any object you drop into the growth can be walked upon and is your ticket to safety. After eliminating this core, four mutamycete husks will spawn. You’ll want to get rid of them to keep them out of your way. It’s easy to get overrun, so use the staircase to slow them down if things get dicey, as you’ll usually only have to fight one at a time if you do.

Once you’ve taken care of them all, walk into the middle of the room using the objects with yellow tape on them. There’s clearly a core on the wall that you couldn’t reach before walking on the furniture. Go ahead and dispose of it just like the last one. Thankfully, nothing spawns this time. Now head upstairs and follow the path. Previously, there were growths in the way, but they’re gone now that you’ve destroyed the core on the wall downstairs.

As you walk towards the back room, two more husks emerge. Dispose of them as you did the others. Once they’re gone, look to your right (if facing the doorway they emerged from) and you’ll see the final core. Destroy it and the last piece of furniture will fall. The furniture will now make a pathway that you can use to safely cross the growth and reach the gold mask.
