Actor and singer Sarah Hadland is the ninth celebrity contestants confirmed for the brand new series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

Hadland has an extensive background in film, television and theatre. She is best known for her role as Stevie in the BAFTA nominated sitcom ‘Miranda’ as well as being one of the original cast members of the multi award winning series ‘Horrible Histories’, both for the BBC. 

Hadland was nominated for an RTS Award for ‘Best Comedy Performance’ for her leading role in ITV’s comedy series ‘The Job Lot’. Sarah has appeared in numerous films, including the Bond epic ‘Quantum of Solace’ and her notable theatre credits include ‘Noises Off’ on the West End.

Hadland says: “I cannot believe I am part of ‘Strictly’! I feel particularly excited to be part of such an iconic show in its 20th year. I’m so ready for the glitz, glam and glitter and hopefully I can make everyone watching at home proud!”

The news was revealed this morning (Thursday 8th August) on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’.

Hadland joins a line-up that includes comedian Chris McCausland, JLS star JB Gill, opera singer Wynne Evans, singer and actress Toyah Willcox, media medic Dr. Punam Krishan, model and TV personality Tasha Ghouri, reality star Pete Wicks and actor and singer Shayne Ward. More celebrities will be revealed in the coming days.

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn.
