Returnal Could Be Coming To PC As Steam Files Discovered

0

Returnal is shaping up to be the next PlayStation exclusive title to be making its way to PC, as files from the Steam Database detail the ‘Tower Of Sisyphus’.

Housemarque’s hit roguelike title was also one of the many games listed in the huge GeForce NOW leak from 2021. The leak in question listed various unannounced games from Sony, Microsoft, Square Enix, EA, and more. As well as console titles that were not available for PC at the time of the leak.

However, 8 months on from the database leak and the credibility continues to grow. Unannounced games such as the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy remaster have since been confirmed and released, whilst PlayStation titles such as God of War have since been released on Steam.

So, although it should come as no surprise that Returnal could soon be coming to PC, Steam database files indicate that an announcement or release could be on the horizon.

Returnal Could Be The Next PlayStation Exclusive Coming To PC

As spotted by Twitter user Nibel, the Steam database features tags that hint toward the release of Returnal on PC. Although the word ‘Returnal’ doesn’t actually appear on the Steam database, there are strings of text titled ‘Tower Of Sisyphus’.

The Tower of Sisyphus was a part of Returnal’s recent ‘Ascension’ DLC update, which launched back in March for the PlayStation 5. Included in the update was a brand new co-op mode, as well as a new endless mode, and was completely free for all owners of Returnal.

Although this is the only indication in the database, Sony has previously iterated that they are dedicated to bringing more first-party titles to PC. Steam users can currently pick up titles such as God of War, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

Plus, when you pair today’s news with last year’s GeForce NOW leak, it’s looking likely that Returnal could soon be coming to Steam. However, we still recommend you take this news with a pinch of salt until it’s made official by either Housemarque or Sony.
