Resident Evil 4 remake could receive a Separate Ways DLC

One of Capcom’s biggest remakes of the Resident Evil franchise just released with smashing reviews, but no Separate Ways. This was a well-known side-story you could unlock after completing the main game in the original Resident Evil 4. Capcom left out this Ada-centered story from the newly-released remake. Luckily, there are clues leading to the possibility that Resident Evil 4 remake could receive a Separate Ways DLC.

Dataminer discovers possible Separate Ways DLC in Resident Evil 4 remake

While perusing the new remake’s files, a dataminer revealed some interesting findings. Announced by @ResiEvilCentral on Twitter, Gosetsu on the RE Wiki Discord found some evidence of files denoting to the Separate Ways expansion. They found a folder referring to ‘The Another Order,’ which is what Separate Ways is known as in Japan. This expansion originally let you play as Ada Wong, showing her side of the Resident Evil 4 story.

Capcom has made DLC for their Resident Evil games in the recent past. Resident Evil Village, the latest mainline title, recently had a new expansion, so a Separate Ways DLC is highly plausible. And now that there are game files denoting to this expansion, it’s even more likely.

Capcom already confirmed a Mercenaries mode for Resident Evil 4 remake on April 7. Mercenaries was an unlockable multiplayer minigame from the original game that involved killing enemies to rack up points. This minigame also showed up most recently in Resident Evil Village. Luckily, Mercenaries will be a free update for Resident Evil 4 remake.

For now, there’s no telling if this Separate Ways DLC will be more expansive or an exact remake of the original. We also don’t know if it will be a free update like Mercenaries, or paid DLC. But the good news is that now we have further evidence that Resident Evil 4 remake could receive a Separate Ways DLC.
