The leaked build of the canceled fan project has surfaced online.

A leaked build of Duke Nukem 3D: Reload, a fan project that never saw the light of day, has surfaced online with its source code, editors, development assets, and gameplay footage. Players can get their hands on the canceled remake of Duke Nukem 3D with a downloadable version, which was created in Unreal Engine 3 and is 4.8 GB in size.

Duke Nukem 3D: Reload began as a fan project from Frederik Schreiber a decade ago, but the game was never released publicly. It was initially intended to be the next-gen remake of Duke Nukem 3D. However, Reload had to be canceled in 2010 due to legal issues between Gearbox Software and Interceptor Entertainment. The last time fans heard about the project was back in 2011 when the developers announced they would finish the game at a later date. After more than a decade, Reloaded has ended up being leaked online with its unfinished build.

This leaked build of Duke Nukem 3D: Reload includes in-game screenshots, gameplay clips, development assets, editors, and even a playable version. Not only players can reinvigorate the Duke Nukem experience by utilizing the build, but they can also play and explore the game as it is. It also features source code, so it will be interesting to see what modders can do with the work-in-progress build. Interested players can download Duke Nukem 3D: Reload, which is 4.8 GB in size and powered by Unreal Engine 5, from the link here.

The build also features gameplay footage of the fan project, showcasing menu items, weapons, settings, inventory, and the protagonist in action. Additionally, the second one shows off a test map where the player tries out hitting targets with a catalog of weapons.

The Duke Nukem community got a leaked version of Prey 1995 in May and the 2001 build of Duke Nukem Forever in December last year, including the source code that gives players the ability to modify the game. The latest entry in the series, Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour, was released by Gearbox back in 2016.
