Cygames has confirmed Grablue Fantasy: Relink will have its own presentation at the franchise’s annual event.
Developer Cygames has announced that the PlayStation-exclusive JRPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink will receive a big info dump in a special live stream on January 21. It was also confirmed that the team will be showing brand-new footage for the first time on stage.
As part of the franchise’s annual event that will be held in late January, Cygames will reveal the latest about its games, including Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Although the game is still on track for a 2023 global launch, it has never had a firm release date.
As the full tweet reads, Granblue Fantasy: Relink will have its own presentation during the upcoming event. “Happy New Year! Development is now in its final stages. The entire development team is working hard to improve the quality of the game to make it the best it can be. At this month’s Granblue Fest, we will be showing brand-new footage [of Granblue Fantasy: Relink] for the first time and revealing new information about it live on stage on the 21st of January! Granblue Fantasy was first announced to be developed in collaboration between PlatinumGames and Cygames back in 2016. However, after three years of work, it was confirmed that PlatinumGames will longer be involved in the project, with Cygames taking the helm for the rest of the development process. Initially announced under the title of Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link, the game takes place in a fictional realm as the original Granblue Fantasy.
Director Tetsuya Fukuhara previously revealed some details about Granblue Fantasy: Relink, claiming that it features characters from the original game and cooperative multiplayer mode. Afterward, producer Yuito Kimura issued a statement regarding the development stage, saying that the developer is focused on refining gameplay balance and improving graphical fidelity. Moreover, the developer update also noted the team needs more time to further polish the game as they approach the final stretch.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink is now targeting a 2023 release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Players can expect Cygames to give an insight into the main aspects of the game, including combat, story, and RPG elements.
