A post from Xbox Wire Germany has suggested that release dates for both Redfall and Forza Motorsport will be revealed at this month’s showcase.
Redfall and Forza Motorsport are reportedly set to receive official release dates at the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct showcase, according to a new post from the German version of Xbox Wire. Microsoft confirmed the showcase earlier this week, with a fresh look at Redfall, Forza Motorsport, and Minecraft Legends all premiering on January 25th.
While the English version of Xbox Wire doesn’t reveal anything about release date announcements, if you translate the German version of the article (using Google Translator), the article does mention the announcement of release dates for all titles appearing in the showcase.
“Developer Direct will focus on amazing features, extensive gameplay showcases and first-time shared release dates for great Xbox titles coming out over the next few months – including The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall,” reads the German version of the Xbox Wire article after translating it to English.
Redfall was originally supposed to release in the Summer of 2022 but was delayed to this year along with Starfield. So, fans are still expecting to see Redfall released prior to the launch of Starfield, as originally intended. However, Forza Motorsport and Minecraft Legends have never received solid release dates.
Along with these titles, Xbox has confirmed that there will be announcements from ZeniMax regarding The Elder Scrolls Online, including the first details on the game’s next expansion for 2023, and the second episode for The Legacy of the Bretons. Although Starfield won’t appear at the upcoming Developer Direct, Xbox did promise a dedicated showcase for the anticipated Bethesda title in the near future.
Except for The Elder Scrolls Online, all of the games that are promised to appear at the Developer Direct event have already had a showcase at Microsoft & Bethesda’s Games Showcase back in June 2022.
Microsoft has loads of games under development without release dates, but the upcoming showcase could actually help the company give the community a more solid gaming calendar for 2023 at the beginning of the new year. Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl and Ark 2 are some other big Xbox console exclusives that are also supposed to release this year, with no firm release date confirmed as of yet.
