The new season also includes an improved anti-cheat system and a reload rework.
Rainbow Six Siege will celebrate its eighth year with the Operation Commanding Force season, which introduces the Brazilian operator Brava, whose Kludge Drone can disable opposing electronic devices. The first season of 2023, which kicks off on March 7, implements a number of changes to the multiplayer shooter — a reload rework, auto muting, mouse and keyboard anti-cheat measures, and beginner challenges to help players learn the fundamentals of Siege.
The new season brings a new attacker to the battlefield, named Brava, who will be available through the premium track of the Battle Pass starting February 20. Ubisoft has released a gameplay trailer for Brava, which features a few scenes of the Brazilian operator showcasing her loadout. She is armed with the PARA-308 assault rifle and CAMRS marksman rifle as her primary weapons. Brava can use the USP40 Pistol and Super Shortly as her sidearms. Her loadout also includes smoke grenades and claymore mine.
However, what sets her apart from other operators is her Kludge Drone gadget that can be used for thievery. Brava can control her drones to hack enemy electronic gadgets from a distance, with a successful hack either destroying the gadgets or changing their allegiance. The results of Brava’s hack can be simple or complex, but they will also be disruptive and deadly. The Kludge Drone can initiate hacks by staying in range of the target until the hack completes. Mute is one of the few defenders that can counter Brava’s shenanigans with the electronic jammers.
The upcoming season introduces an all-new anti-cheat feature that detects players who use a mouse and keyboard to play Siege. In case you are not aware, Rainbow Six Siege does not officially support mouse and keyboard usage for consoles. Moreover, Operation Commanding Force brings significant changes to animations, including a new way that animation canceling works. For instance, guns won’t be reloaded until a reload animation is complete, and they will have zero loaded bullets if players decide to cancel a reload animation.
Rainbow Six Siege: Year 8 Season 1 also features onboarding challenges that will help players get used to some of the mechanics sooner. Completing these challenges will give players a variety of rewards, including weapons, operators, and cosmetics.
