Krafton has been celebrating PUBG Mobile’s fifth anniversary with a tonne of in-game events. The commemoration was done via the version 2.5 update, which introduced the highly awaited World of Wonder free builder mode. As players test out the beta of this sandbox-esque mode, let’s also take a look at everything the battle royale has achieved in the last five years.

Since its launch in March 2018, PUBG Mobile has been downloaded over a billion times and it still has a massive player base. Erangel is unsurprisingly the most played map with 108.5 billion visits. Between all the available maps, players have travelled 3.42 trillion kilometres between the Buggy and the Motorcycle.

It looks like most players love the M416 the most, clocking in over 311 trillion uses which caused 118.6 billion out of the total 538.5 billion eliminations. The iconic PUBGM Pan was also used to cause 1.24 billion eliminations.

Besides offering a power-packed gameplay experience to players, PUBG Mobile has also hosted numerous collaborations, be it with giants from the automotive industry, like McLaren and Bugatti, or with pop culture phenomenons from the K-pop industry and footballers as well. Be it new weapons or virtual concerts, the battle royale has created awesome moments for players.

Thanking players for their constant support, Vincent Wang, Head of PUBGM Publishing, Tencent Games, said: “To the millions who keep dropping into PUBG MOBILE to play every day, thank you all for an incredible five years! The support we’ve received from the community continues to be incredible, and we hope you enjoy the 5th anniversary celebrations! We’re so excited to keep providing you with the best battle royale experience on mobile!”

The World of Wonder mode was just the beginning. Players should expect a lot more collaborations, including one with Dragon Ball, which will take place later this year.
