Last November, Sony launched the updated PS5 Slim, offering a compact new design with the same powerful hardware as the original console. The PS5 Slim was bundled with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at launch for the holidays–and somehow, the bundle is still available for only $499 at Amazon and Walmart. The bundle is either sold out or back to the full $560 price at other major retailers, including Best Buy and Target. Meanwhile, the Call of Duty PS5 Slim bundle is sold out at all major retailers, so we expect the Spider-Man bundle to disappear soon, too.
The PS5 Slim Spider-Man 2 bundle essentially gets you the excellent open-world game for free. Typically listed for $560, Amazon has it on sale for $499. We’ve also seen it listed at Walmart for the same price–though this seems to vary based on your location. At any rate, these are the only two retailers still offering the discount, and it likely won’t be available for much longer.
It’s a similar story for the Nintendo Switch OLED Super Smash Bros. bundle and PS5 Slim + Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 bundle, both of which saw steep discounts around the holidays and are now sold out or priced higher. However, you can still get the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Nintendo Switch holiday bundle at Amazon and Best Buy for $300–at least for now.
The new PS5 console is an easy recommendation if you don’t yet own a PS5, and our Spider-Man 2 review gave Peter Parker’s and Miles Morales’ latest adventure an impressive 8/10 due to its fluid combat and exciting sense of exploration.
“Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 may largely give us more of what we’ve played in Insomniac’s previous Spider-Man games, but that winning formula is still so damn fun that it really doesn’t matter,” wrote critic Jordan Ramée. “Spider-Man 2 unites all four characters in a riveting narrative throughline you’ll want to see all the way through and has the gameplay hooks to keep you engaged the whole ride.”
