Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Announces 7-Star Tera Raid Of Pikachu
Pikachu will appear at the highest difficulty raids with Water as its Tera type.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has announced that the next Tera Raid event that sees players take on Pikachu with the Mightiest Mark will be available from 00:00 UTC on February 24th through 14:59 UTC on February 27th. The upcoming event will be the first where a Pokemon that can be caught in Paldea will appear at the 7-star Tera Raid.
Players can encounter Pikachu with Water as its Tera Type at the highest difficulty raids, but it can only be caught once per save file. They will be teaming up with other players to defeat the yellow mouse, whose torrent of attacks makes it a formidable foe. Following on from Greninja, Cinderace, and Charizard, the fan-favorite Pokemon will appear in the game’s fourth 7-star raid with its Mightiest Mark. The event will be held in celebration of Pokemon Day.
Pikachu is normally an electric-type Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which evolves from Pichu when upgraded with High Friendship. It can also evolve into Raichu with a Thunder Stone. The upcoming Tera Raid event offers a challenge against water-type Pikachu, allowing players to strengthen their Pokedex with a special type Pokemon. The yellow mouse previously appeared in Paldea with a third type, Flying Pikachu, which was granted to players who purchased either Scarlet or Violet early during its global release in September 2022.
As for Pikachu’s abilities, it has a 30% chance of paralyzing opponents that come into direct contact with it. Pikachu’s hidden ability, called Lightning Rod, allows players to draw in all electric-type moves that boost its special attack by one stage. Besides, this special Pikachu gains a 1.5x damage bonus while removing weaknesses and resistances from its original type.
The event also offers a challenge against Bronzong and Lucario in four and five-star raids, respectively. Bronzong is a steel-type Pokemon that takes no damage from Spikes and can not be trapped by the Arena Trap ability. Moreover, damage-dealing ground-type moves have no effect on this Pokemon. Lucario, on the other hand, can increase its speed by one stage every time it flinches. Its hidden ability also raises Lucario’s attack when the Pokemon is hit by a dark-type move.
