Pokémon GO: Tapu Fini counters

What are the best counters against Tapu Fini in Pokémon GO? We’ll show you the answer to that question in this guide on how to quickly defeat the Legendary level 5 raid boss from Alola.

Debuting alongside the Poni Adventure Special Research Story, Tapu Fini is now available in the game’s level 5 raid battles. Representing the Water and Fairy types, this pocket monster is considered the crown jewel of the Alola quartet watching over the archipelago’s islands. The creature’s Shiny variant is not yet available, but you should go on the hunt regardless – after all, your Pokédex wants to be completed.

Tapu Fini: Best Counters – Pokémon GO

Mega Gengar (Lick, Sludge Bomb)
Mega Beedrill (Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb)
Mega Manectric (Thunder Fang, Wild Charge)
Mega Venusaur (Vine Whip, Frenzy Plant)
Zekrom (Charge Beam, Wild Charge)
Zarude (Vine Whip, Power Whip)
Thundurus (Therian Forme) (Volt Switch, Thunderbolt)
Mega Ampharos (Volt Switch, Zap Cannon)
Raikou (Thunder Shock, Wild Charge)
Roserade (Poison Jab, Grass Knot)
Electivire (Thunder Shock, Wild Charge)
Magnezone (Spark, Wild Charge)
Tapu Bulu (Bullet Seed, Grass Knot)
Luxray (Spark, Wild Charge)
Zapdos (Thunder Shock, Thunderbolt)

Tapu Fini, sporting 40,978 competition points (CP) as a level 5 raid boss, is especially vulnerable to Poison, Grass, and Electric-type attacks. Which category you should focus on probably depends on which mega evolution you currently have in reserve – coordinate with your raid partners to set yourself up as effectively as possible.

Four to five trainers around level 40 with appropriate monsters and the support of mega evolutions should easily handle Tapu Fini. After a victory, you may capture the Legendary with a strength between 1,556 and 2,041 CP, with rain and overcast weather making for more powerful specimens.
