With Christmas nearly upon us, developer Niantic has announced via a new blog post that a number of rewards, in-game bonuses, and costumed Pokemon will be available to earn as part of the Pokemon GO New Year’s 2023 event, starting on December 31, 2022, at 8 PM and ending on January 4, 2023, at 8 PM local time. Pokemon wearing their Christmas outfits will make their debut, as players can join challenges to receive Stardust.

Pikachu wearing a party top hat and Noctowl with its new year’s outfit will be included in the event, as players may encounter their shiny versions if they are lucky enough. Players can also obtain new avatar items, poses, and stickers during the event while lighting up the skies with festive fireworks. Event-themed stickers will be available to earn by spinning PokeStops, opening gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop. Players will also encounter a lineup of three new Pokemon in the wild – Pikachu, Hoothoot, and Wurmple.
