Pocket City 2, the sequel to the beloved indie city builder, reveals release date

Pocket City 2, the sequel to the much-beloved city builder management game Pocket City, has finally revealed its release date of April 8th! Pocket City 2 seeks to allow players to get a bit more personally attached to their cities, taking you out of the godlike top-down view and directly into the streets and structures of your custom-built city with your own self-made avatar too!

The original Pocket City is one of the most beloved mobile games out there, despite how simple it may seem. The game revolves around putting you in the seat of your own town’s manager, where you’ll create each neighbourhood, place buildings and monuments, and try to keep your citizens happy. Think something like the renowned Cities Skylines but on a bit of a smaller scale.

Pocket City 2 is looking to take that concept and improve not only upon the management side of things but also allow players to personally craft their own avatar, who can then interact with the city that you yourself build on a much deeper level by allowing you to walk the streets of your town yourself.

Taking that concept to the next level, there will even be various activities you can do within your city that will see you embark on adventures to different parts that you built yourself to gain various rewards. This all makes your connection to the city you pour countless hours into that much deeper, and is frankly a really awesome gameplay idea.

Add in a smattering of other additions to the core gameplay loop like hosting events, natural disasters, and other city-builder genre staples that were missing from the original game, and this looks like the next big builder game for mobile devices.

If you’re interested you can pre-order Pocket City 2 for $4.99 at the link below! There’s no Google Play link up just yet, but it’ll likely pop up in the near future, so keep an eye out!
