The PlayStation 5 “Slim” model has become one of the worst-kept secrets of the year, as we already managed to get a look at the console before its official reveal. A reveal that is likely getting closer as more parts of the new system are getting showcased online.
A couple of days back, @MTown0411 shared a couple of pictures of what is reportedly the new model’s cooling fan, comparing it with the current model’s fan in one of them on X/Twitter. The differences between the two fans are minimal in size, confirming that the new PlayStation 5 revision isn’t much slimmer than the current model. Interestingly enough, the fan is also available for purchase already.

While the fan in the pictures above could be a random fan and not that of the PlayStation 5 Slim, @BwE_Dev, who provided the first look at the new system last month, retweeted the pictures, so there’s a good chance that it is indeed the new model’s fan.
As mentioned above, what is known as the PlayStation 5 Slim is likely not going to be slim at all, judging from the images shared online last month. According to reliable insider Tom Henderson, Sony may market the new model as an improved model that will completely replace the current one, with the last units hitting store shelves by the end of the year.
