Square Enix started sharing songs from the original Final Fantasy VII soundtrack over the past week. Things started on January 22, 2024 with the “Prelude” and the playlist now includes 10 songs.
These tracks are being added in batches. Each one includes five songs. They are also starting from the beginning of the game and moving onward. Each video also features gameplay footage from a point of the game during which that song plays. So the first five released are the following tracks:
The second batch of songs from the original Final Fantasy VII soundtrack showed up on January 24, 2024. This selection started with “Barret’s Theme” and ended with the main battle theme for the game. Here’s the list of those five songs:
It isn’t uncommon for Square Enix to release new and old versions of songs from its games online. For example, it brought up the remake’s “Midnight Rendezvous” not long ago.
Final Fantasy VII is available on the PlayStation, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices, and it also showed up as a PSOne Classic for the PS3 and PSP.
