One Piece Chapter 1054 Delay and New Release Date Explained

After Kaido’s defeat, the Straw Hats are ready for a new adventure in the Grand Line. In the previous chapter, we learned that Luffy and Buggy joined Shanks and Teach to become the new Emperors. Meanwhile, the government has put a bounty of 3 Billion Berries on Luffy’s head, so the Straw Hat Pirates’ captain has now become one of the most wanted pirates in the world.

The chapter also revealed that Kozuki Sukiyaki is still alive, and he was imprisoned in a room for several years. However, Sukiyaki blames himself for letting Orochi take over the country. He obviously won’t tell Momo the truth, so let’s hope that the manga focuses on Momo and Sukiyaki’s relationship sometime in the future.

Ryokugyu is also getting closer to the Onigashima, and he isn’t exactly happy with Monkey D. Luffy for defeating Kaido and Big Mom. Of course, Ryokugyu is a formidable enemy who could create more trouble for Luffy, so every fan is expecting to see their confrontation in chapter 1054 of One Piece.

One Piece community is looking forward to the release of Chapter 1054 this weekend. However, the manga is on a month-long hiatus, so you’ll have to wait a few more weeks to read the next chapter. Earlier this month, Eiichiro Oda confirmed that One Piece had completed the Four Emperors Saga, and with Chapter 1054, the story will enter its Final Saga. So, the author needed some time to work on the final arc. Additionally, Oda will use the time off to visit South Africa to supervise the production of Netflix’s One Piece live-action series.

The manga will be absent from Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #30 to Issue #33. Chapter 1054 will be published in Issue #34, which is scheduled to release in Japan on Monday, July 25th, 2022. Obviously, the release date will vary for international fans because of the time difference. On Viz Media and Manga Plus, the chapter will be available to read on Sunday, July 24th, 2022. Fortunately, some spoilers for Chapter 1054 will surface 4-5 days before its official release to give us a glimpse of the upcoming events.
