Red Art Games shared a new trailer from Nuclear Blaze recently, confirming that it will publish the indie title on consoles on April 28, 2023. The game will be available both digitally and physically for consoles.
Nuclear Blaze is a 2D platformer experience developed by one of the former members of Motion Twin, the team behind Dead Cells. Nuclear Blaze is the first title from Sébastien Bénard’s own studio known as Deepnight Games. The game was first launched on Steam back in October 2021, receiving favorable reviews from fans, most of which had already liked Dead Cells.
Unlike Dead Cells, Nuclear Blaze is not a roguelike experience. It is a platformer action adventure circling around a firefighter who tries to keep the ongoing chaos in a mysterious facility under control while figuring out the secrets behind the site and the reason why it is burning to hell.
Instead of making a difficult game for hardcore players, Deepnight Games has tried to make Nuclear Blaze as accessible as possible. The game even features a Kid Mode that allows players younger players (3 years old or older) to enjoy the game without dealing with many difficult situations and hard-to-master mechanics. That being said, the game is still challenging enough for those who want a balance between gameplay and story.
The digital version of Nuclear Blaze will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Ninetndo Switch for $15. If you want to get the physical edition, however, the price goes up to $30. It’s worth noting that the physical version will only be available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Also, you will need to submit an order from the Red Art Games official website, as it is unlikely to appear in local retailers.
Motion Twin, the studio behind Dead Cells, is yet to announce a new project for the future, but the game has already received some widely acclaimed updates, delivering new content to the game after its brilliant launch back in 2018.
Despite having 96% of positive reviews, Nuclear Blaze didn’t rise to the same level of fame on PC, but the console launch might help the game to become more popular among gamers.
