Emily Rogers, who is quite a credible insider for Nintendo, wrote quite a cryptic comment on Famiboards forums recently. In a thread, Emily asks if there are any fans of indie games there. To that, a number of users replied that they absolutely love indie games and would love to see more of them in the coming days. While many didn’t notice it, others were quite quick to speculate that Emily could possibly be hinting toward an upcoming Indie World showcase by Nintendo. Do note that Emily didn’t state anything else apart from that, but considering how random that comment was, it is quite possible that they were hinting towards an Indie World showcase.

So what exactly is an Indie World showcase? Well, it is a Nintendo Direct but it is focused only around indies. We witnessed the last Indie World event happening in December, and we haven’t received anything after that. Obviously, that would mean that we can expect a new Indie World showcase very soon, and this comment could very well be suggesting that. For the record, Emily has previously leaked these events pretty accurately, so this should have a lot of credibility if it is actually what it sounds like.
