Nintendo Direct Scheduled for September – Rumour

Though Nintendo doesn’t necessarily follow a concrete schedule for its Direct presentations, every year, they do tend to follow the same general pattern, if with a few minor deviations here and there. For instance, we generally do see Nintendo Directs in the month of September every year, and it looks like 2023 will be no different on that front.

That’s according to journalist Jeff Grubb, who recently said on an episode of his Last of the Nintendogs podcast that a Nintendo Direct presentation is indeed planned for September this year, as is usually the case most years. According to Grubb, it will happen around the same time as the Nintendo Live fan event in Seattle, which is scheduled for September 1-4.

Even though the Nintendo Switch is in the seventh year of its lifecycle, the Japanese company will likely still have plenty to show at a September Direct, if one does happen. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is set to release in October, with Super Mario RPG Remake arriving the following month, while Nintendo also has a Princess Peach game and a Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon remaster planned for sometime in 2024.

Grubb has also claimed that Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Remastered and a new Zelda release are coming soon, so there might be a chance that we end up hearing something official about those at the September Direct as well.
