Nilou Best Builds & Artifact Sets

While Nilou can be used as either a Main DPS or Sub-DPS, her best artifact sets remain the same in both roles. She can easily create a lot of Hydro DMG on-field or off-field. Here are the best artifacts for Nilou and the stats that you should choose for them.

2-Set Of Tenacity Of The Millelith And 2-Set Of Gilded Dreams

A 2-Set of Tenacity of the Millelith will give Nilou a base boost to her HP by 20 percent. A 2-Set of Gilded Dreams will give her a base boost to her Elemental Mastery by 80. These two are a perfect pair for Nilou as her Elemental Burst damage scales on her HP, so if you make sure to keep her HP as high as possible, you will get a significant amount of damage out of her Elemental Burst. As for Elemental Mastery, Nilou has a passive talent that allows her to create Bountiful Cores, which comes from having a team of only Hydro and Dendro characters. Bountiful Cores are created through the Elemental Reaction Bloom, which uses Hydro and Dendro. If you increase Nilou’s Elemental Mastery, the Bountiful Cores will have a higher damage output. With these two sets, here are the best stats and substats you should choose for each artifact.

Type of Artifact Main Stats Substats
Sands of Eon HP, Energy Recharge, or Elemental Mastery HP%, Elemental Mastery, Energy Recharge
Goblet of Eonothem HP HP%, Elemental Mastery, Energy Recharge
Circlet of Logos HP HP%, Elemental Mastery, Energy Recharge

With a Sub-DPS build for Nilou, your Sands of Eon will work best with either HP or Energy Recharge as the main stat. Since you will be using her off-field, it is best to keep her Energy Recharge up as much as possible, so you can continue to use her Elemental Burst without having her on-field often. If you are wanting to focus on a Main DPS build, then HP and Elemental Mastery are your best options to increase the damage of her Elemental Burst and Elemental Reactions — especially with the Bountiful Cores she can create.

Nilou’s Best 5-Star And 4-Star Weapons

Nilou can be very flexible when it comes to choosing a weapon for her. Since her build doesn’t focus on CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate like a lot of Main DPS and Sub-DPS do, she has more weapon options available to her to increase her Elemental Burst DMG and Hydro DMG. Below, you’ll find some of the best 5-Star and 4-Star weapons that you can use for Nilou.

5-Star Weapons: Key Of Khaj-Nisut And Freedom-Sworn

Key of Khaj-Nisut will give Nilou a base boost to her HP by 14.4 percent. Its Bonus Skill will increase her HP even further by 20 percent. When an Elemental Skill hits an enemy, Nilou will also gain the Grand Hymn effect for 20 seconds. This will increase Nilou’s Elemental Mastery by 0.12 percent of her Max HP. This effect has a max of 3 stacks and can occur once every 0.3 seconds. When this effect gains 3 stacks, the Elemental Mastery of all other party members will increase by 0.2 percent of Nilou’s Max HP for 20 seconds. This weapon will give Nilou a significant boost to her Elemental Burst DMG as well as increase the strength of the Bountiful Cores she can create with the boost to Elemental Mastery.

Freedom-Sworn will give Nilou a base increase to her Elemental Mastery by 43. Its Bonus Skill will increase her DMG by 10 percent. If Nilou triggers Elemental Reactions with this weapon, she will gain a Sigil of Rebellion, which can occur once every 0.5 seconds and can be triggered even when Nilou isn’t on-field. When she reaches 2 Sigils, they will be consumed, and it will give other party members a 20 percent ATK increase and 16 percent Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG increase for 12 seconds. This weapon is great for a Sub-DPS build as it can give Nilou’s other team members an ATK buff even if she is off-field.

4-Star Weapons: Sacrificial Sword And Xiphos’ Moonlight

Sacrificial Sword will give Nilou a base increase to her Energy Recharge by 13.3 percent. Also, after you damage an enemy with an Elemental Skill, the skill will have a 40 percent chance to end its own Cooldown. This can only occur once every 30 seconds. This weapon is a favorite among Sub-DPS characters, so if you are wanting to focus on a Sub-DPS build for Nilou, this weapon will keep her Energy Recharge up, allowing you to use her Elemental Burst as frequently as possible while being off-field.

Xiphos’ Moonlight will give Nilou a base boost to her Elemental Mastery by 36. It will also give Nilou an increase to her Energy Recharge by 0.036 percent for each point of Elemental Mastery she possesses for 12 seconds, with other party members gaining 30 percent of this buff for the same duration. This effect will trigger every 10 seconds, and can trigger even if the character is off-field. This weapon is also great for a Sub-DPS build as Nilou can be off-field and Xiphos’ Moonlight’s effect can still trigger. It is also good for a Main DPS build, as it will increase the damage of Nilou’s Elemental Reactions.

Free-To-Play Weapon: Iron Sting

Iron Sting is a fantastic Free-To-Play option for Nilou that you can easily craft at any Blacksmith. It will give Nilou a base increase of 36 to her Elemental Mastery. When you deal Elemental DMG, you will gain a 6 percent increase to all DMG for 6 seconds. It has a maximum of 2 stacks, and can occur once every 1 second. This weapon can be used as an alternative to Xiphos’ Moonlight and Freedom-Sworn with its increase to Elemental Mastery. It can be used with a Sub-DPS or Main DPS build for Nilou, as it will give her an increase to her Elemental DMG which can be useful for either build.

Nilou’s Best Team Compositions

As mentioned before, Nilou should almost always have a team that is Hydro and Dendro. This is due to her passive talent, Court of Dancing Petals, which provides Bountiful Cores when Nilou’s team consists of all Hydro and Dendro characters. Bountiful Cores are created through the Bloom reaction, which uses Dendro and Hydro. These Bountiful Cores will burst faster and have a larger Area of Effect than normal Dendro Cores.

Best 5-Star Team

For this team, you can choose to have Nilou as either the Main DPS or Sub-DPS, a role that can be swapped with the 5-Star Dendro character Nahida. You will always want to have a Hydro and Dendro team with Nilou, as this is required for her to create Bountiful Cores.

Character Character Type and Benefits
Kokomi Healer and Support; can provide consistent healing and Hydro application through Elemental Skill
Nahida Main DPS or Sub-DPS; can provide great off-field DMG and easy Dendro application with Elemental Burst’s large Area of Effect
Yelan Sub-DPS; can provide Hydro DMG and a DMG buff through Elemental Burst

Best 4-Star Team

In a 4-Star team, Nilou is best suited to the Main DPS role. She can be well-supported by other Hydro characters which will give her a boost to her DMG and provide healing.

Character Character Type and Benefits
Xingqiu Sub-DPS; can provide consistent Hydro application and has a strong Elemental Skill that provides Elemental Particles
Collei Sub-DPS; can provide Dendro DMG to create Bloom Reaction and Elemental Burst has wide Area of Effect
Barbara Healer and Support; can provide healing and additional Hydro application
