New Wolves are finally coming to Minecraft

Minecraft has revealed a feature that every single Minecraft player has wanted the very first time they saw and tamed a wolf: more variants. I am very happy to reveal that Minecraft has really delivered with this update.

Eight new wolves have been added to Minecraft

Minecraft’s most recent Minecraft Monthly revealed the addition of eight new wolves for players to find in their world. We’ve had a small selection of cat variants for so long, it’s about time the dogs caught up.

These new wolves will spawn in different biomes, encouraging travel to find the canine companion that you want the most.

Have a look below to see a list of all eight new wolves added to the game:

Thankfully, the classic wolf, now called the Pale Wolf, still remains, and will likely inhabit the plains biomes.

This update goes hand-in-hand with the other update concerning dogs: dyeable wolf armor. You can not only have your own colour of wolf armour, but you now have nine styles of dog to mix and match designs for. All they need to do now is add trims…

One thing that only dawned on me whilst writing this, is that wolves will not not only be constrained to the plains and forests anymore. They’ll nwo spawn almost anywhere, from the acacia, to the tundras, to the deserts.

This is just a cosmetic change, none of them will behave differently from the other, but this is what the community has been asking for for so long.

To me, this highlights that Mojang may be trying to finally rebuild the bridge between them the community. Recently, there have been many controversial updates that have upset the community, and no matter what they do, Mojang goes ahead with them anyway.

But now, with adding one of the most requested features in Minecraft history, we may be seeing the return of a Minecraft we love.

All of these new variants remind me of the other new mob coming to Minecraft, the Bogged.
