The new Initiator will probably be revealed this Saturday.

A reliable Valorant insider claims the next Agent is called Gekko and will be officially revealed on March 4th during a showcase before the Grand Finale of the Lock/In tournament. The insider also believes that there will be a show match representing Gekko’s abilities in detail.

Just a few weeks ago, Valorant’s developer officially confirmed that the game will receive three new Agents this year. The first one will be an Initiator, while the second is a Sentinel. The third Agent was kept a secret as Riot Games seems to be working on something special.

Valorant’s Episode 6 started earlier this year and introduced a new map, Lotus. The second Act of Episode 6 is supposed to go live on March 7th with a new Agent as the biggest upcoming feature, but players can also expect a variety of balance changes for existing Agents. While no official details have been shared from the new Agent, Valorant’s official Twitter account has teased Gekko a few times.

Riot Games also recently confirmed that the Oni 2.0 skin bundle will be featured in the opening of Episode 6 Act 2. The new bundle brings Oni skins to Vandal, Ares, Frenzy, Bulldog, and a Karambit in the form of a Katana. The skins will feature 4 different variants, but the price tag is yet to be announced.

Aside from new Agents and bundles, Riot Games is also working on a new Premier mode. While a beta version of the competitive mode was tested in 2022, the work on it will still continue until Riot makes sure that it is ready to be launched. In the Premier mode, Riot is attempting to bring the esports experience for players.

During Episode 6, Riot Games announced a set of changes to the ranking system in Competitive mode, where the rank points players gain or lose will be more dependent on the result of the match rather than personal performance, though the bonus performance points will still be awarded to the valuable players of a match. The map pool was also changed by the removal of Breeze and Bind, which saw the return of Split and the addition of Lotus.
