New Switch Games Releasing This Week | January 16

What’s new on the Nintendo Switch this week?

What’s new on the Nintendo Switch this week? What new games will be joining the ever-expanding Nintendo eShop library? What’s going to be sitting on store shelves this week? Plenty, as it happens.

It’s a big week for a couple of reasons, and those reasons are called Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden. Fans of the franchise will be getting a double helping of Persona goodness on January 19, with Persona 3 Portable being of particular note; before now, the game has only ever been released for the Sony PSP, so to have it releasing on modern machines is a big deal as many fans won’t have had the opportunity to play it.

For something a little less involved and far more sociable, Rubber Bandits is worth a look. Releasing January 19, Rubber Bandits is a party game that pits players against one another in wacky beat-em-up scenarios. It’s actually a bit of an oldie at this point as it was released a couple of years ago for PC and other home consoles. It won’t take anybody away from Super Smash Bros. but it would make a nice addition to any party-game library.

And a final highlight is… Counter Bottle Shooter-Pro Aim Master Target Bottle Shoot 3D Game Strike Pistol. The Nintendo eShop is home to some ridiculously named games, and this scribe can’t help but chuckle at some of the keyword nailing efforts on show.

Below is the list of new games heading to the Switch this week, though if anything else ends up on the store throughout the course of the week, we’ll add it to the list.
