The latest trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 has arrived, and once again, there’s going to be a mountain of bodies left behind him by the time the end credits have rolled. Left for dead and missing a finger after the events of the previous film, Keanu Reeves suits up as the iconic assassin in an effort to win back his freedom from the High Table, facing off against former allies who are now out for his head.
”John Wick uncovers a path to defeating the High Table,” the film synopsis reads. “But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.”
Chapter 4 includes a number of big names in the action movie scene, as Reeves will tangle with martial arts legend Donnie Yen, who plays a lethal blind swordsman in this film, and Scott Adkins, who looks unrecognizable from his Accident Man days thanks to the padded suit wrapped around him.
The rest of the cast includes Bill Skarsgard, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Clancy Brown, Shamier Anderson, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Ian McShane. In case you missed it, several of these actors got fancy posters this week hyping up their appearance in the film.
Originally scheduled to launch on May 21, 2021. John Wick: Chapter 4 was delayed to May 27, 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and once more to March 24, 2023, after Lionsgate decided that even Wick couldn’t take on Tom Cruise when Top Gun: Maverick hit screens. It was likely a wise move, considering that Top Gun: Maverick was a huge box office hit.
