New Final Fantasy XVI gameplay footage will appear at a State of Play presentation scheduled for April 13, 2023. The presentation will be held at 2pm PDT/5pm ET/11pm CEST. Additionally, Sony has shared that co-streaming of the event will be available to content creators. However, the presentation could contain copyright footage, and livestreamers should be aware before co-streaming the broadcast.

Previously, Square Enix shared that more information about Final Fantasy XVI would appear ahead of the release of the game, which is slated for late-June 2023. While new gameplay footage for Final Fantasy XVI will appear at the State of Play presentation, elaboration on what will appear is sparse. The official Sony State of Play blog reveals that the presentation will elaborate a bit on the game’s “dark fantasy setting.” It will also feature footage of the combat system shown in previous demonstrations and trailers.

At PAX East 2023, Producer Naoki Yoshida held a live demonstration which showed protagonist Clive moving around in one of the environments. One of the highlights of this brief segment also showed players that they can pet Clive’s wolf-dog companion Torgal.

Final Fantasy XVI will release on the PlayStation 5 on June 23, 2022, with a six month exclusivity period. While Square Enix has not confirmed it coming to other platforms, it could be a possibility.
