Deku is debatably the most passionate member of U.A. High as he climbs to the top of his class. During his time becoming a hero, the student Deku has encountered some of the most intense fights ever to be seen in My Hero Academia.

10 Bakugo Calls Out Midoriya

Bakugo and Izuku Midoriya have a longtime rivalry reminiscent of other anime shows like Dragon Ball or Naruto, but this one has its own unique appreciation into an understanding that is never talked about. Bakugo, after realizing that Midoriya has acquired his quirk from All Might, calls out Midoriya one night after school.

Bakugo demands that Midoriya fights him, to which Midoriya agrees. During the battle, the two went all out, but Bakugo, in a rampage of anger, defeated Midoriya by being absolutely ruthless.

9 Midoriya Surprises Shinso

During the U.A. High Sports Festival, there was a tournament dedicated to the students who made it among the top students on the leaderboard at the end of the festival. In this, Deku was matched up against Shinso, who wasn’t even a hero course student.

When they fought, though, Shinso easily used his quirk to mind control Deku into walking off of the stage, but luckily for Deku, One For All used itself to snap Deku’s finger. This woke Deku from the fight, and then he proceeded to beat Shinso in the battle.

8 Nighteye Testing Midoriya

As part of Deku’s second work study, Deku wanted to sign with the hero Nighteye, who was All Might’s older sidekick. Once Deku arrived at Nighteye’s agency, though, the hero started to tell Deku that he wouldn’t take him on for his work study.

After a short bickering, Nighteye decided to test Deku by telling him to take something from his hand. Deku used One For All in order to gain speed, just like Gran Torino moves around, but he wasn’t able to grab what Nighteye was holding. Eventually, the hero took on Deku anyway.

7 Bakugo And Midoriya Fight All Might

As part of a lesson in school, the students were paired up and set to battle it out with the teachers of U.A. High. This even meant that a couple of unlucky students would be going up against All Might. As decided, Bakugo and Deku were to go up against the number one hero.

During this battle, the two didn’t harness teamwork at all, as Bakugo would rather fight alone. In the end, though, Bakugo started to show a little more teamwork in order to help Deku win the session against All Might.

6 Defending His Friend From Stain

Iida felt vengeful as Stain the Hero Killer had crippled his brother to the point where he would no longer be a hero. In the act of revenge, Iida sought out Stain in order to take the villain on himself.

Once Iida found Stain, the Hero Killer easily defeated the young student, but then Deku came to the rescue as he started to fight Stain. Todoroki also came to the fight, and eventually, it was the three students against the Hero Killer. This fight had fans on edge, but soon the three students defeated Stain!

5 Midoriya V.S. Todoroki

After Deku defeated Shinso in their short battle, he was put up against the son of the number 2 hero. This was Deku against Todoroki. Todoroki started off this battle using his ice to blast a wall at Deku.

Deku instantly used his quirk to help overpower the ice that came at him, and he even showed signs of what seemed to be overpowering Todoroki. Deku was furious that Todoroki wouldn’t go all out against him, though, as Todoroki wouldn’t use his fire. After an impactful speech, Todoroki finally decided to bring out his fire to defeat Deku.

4 Taking On Gentle

Gentle, the criminal that would post videos of him committing crimes online, decided to infiltrate U.A. High as part of his next big plan. Unfortunately, U.A. High was also having a large event, so if Gentle infiltrated the school, the school would shut down, and the event would be canceled.

When Deku caught wind of this plan, he instantly sought to stop Gentle from ruining the school’s event, in which class 1-A would be putting on a concert. Deku eventually overpowered Gentle, and the two learned a lot from each other.

3 Midoriya V.S. Bakugo Team Battle

As part of the first lessons in U.A. High, the students were put into pairs against each other in a team battle. This would separate the teams into heroes and villains, with the heroes wanting to “disarm” a villainous device. Ochako and Deku were put on a team against Iida and Bakugo.

Instantly, Bakugo sought to fight Deku, and Ochako went for the device. Right when Bakugo was about to beat Deku into a pulp, Deku let out an incredible smash toward the ceiling. This even unsettled Bakugo, as the power was surprising.

2 Going All Out Against Muscular

U.A. High School had the hero course go far out into the forest as part of a collective camp with the Wild, Wild Pussycats. During this, though, the League of Villains caught on to their location and instantly attacked the camp.

The villains were incredibly powerful and overpowered most students and teachers. Unfortunately, Deku was caught alone with Kota as Muscular was looking for Bakugo. Muscular threatened the two, and Deku was forced to stand up to the villain. The fight showed just how strong Deku had gotten!

1 Fight To The Death With Kai Chisaki

As part of his work-study program the second time around, Deku was working with Nighteye and his agency. Nighteye was part of a collective team-up as they were to infiltrate the Shie Hassaikai base. Deku went in with Nighteye and their friends, and eventually, they found Chisaki.

Chisaki had already defeated Lemillion, and now Deku had caught himself alone with the villain. In the best fight of the series, Deku fought beyond his limits against Chisaki, and though Nighteye saw Deku die in the future, Deku disregarded that and overcame the villain.
