MoonWard is letting players try the ARPG out with a demo version, which releases next month

Last month, Indie developer Slate Games announced its upcoming project, MoonWard, an action RPG coming to Android and iOS. Set in an industro fantasy world, it takes players on an exciting adventure as they unearth mysteries of Vala and its satellite. The game features a fast-paced combat style with procedurally generated loot and lots of customization options to tailor the experience.

While we don’t have a release date for MoonWard in sight, players can get a taste of the action in a few weeks as a demo is being released on June 9th for Android users only. Participants will be able to test out core gameplay features with some side activities. The demo will feature the full implementation of procedurally generated levels, enemies, and loot.

Of course, not everything will be open for players in this version. Progression is limited to the first hub area with a cap on the levels at 15. While players can get to level 100, it doesn’t make too much sense to go after it right now because there’s no story content after level 15. The demo is about 15-30 minutes long, after which only randomized levels will continue to generate.

If you haven’t heard about the game, MoonWard sees players embark on a short, two-hour journey through a light-hearted narrative. They will create their own character from a plethora of choices of nine races, seven classes, and twelve backgrounds, all of which have unique characteristics.

The story may not be too serious but don’t expect the combat to be the same. MoonWard is heavily inspired by Dark Souls 1, which means challenging battles await you. The game features a 1D combat system which is hard, but fair. There is a tonne of mini-stories to follow where loot is procedurally generated. It’s essentially endless hours of action even after the story is over.

While you wait for MoonWard’s demo, visit the official website for more information.
