The exceptionally strong Lockwood MK2, which is acquired upon reaching Level 28, is the only Lever Action Marksman Rifle in Modern Warfare 2. Sparking a similar appearance to Modern Warfare’s MK2 Carbine, it’s no surprise to see players gravitating towards using it in Multiplayer –especially when it proves to be as deadly as its original predecessor.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Lockwood MK2 possesses exceptional range and can consistently provide a one-shot kill to unshielded opponents (at close to mid-range) when aimed at the head or chest. While the SP-R 208 provides better accuracy and superior recoil control, the Lockwood MK2 leads the way in mobility, handling, and fire rate. To put it simply, the Lockwood MK2 is the best Marksman Rifle to use at short distances but is much less effective from afar.

LONGHORN LEVER (Lever)

The attachments we have chosen for the Lockwood MK2 will increase its damage, fire rate, effective range, and accuracy. However, this has been achieved by reducing its handling by a small amount. For the first attachment slot, equip the 25” BUFFALO BARREL. This is the only barrel that improves both damage range and bullet velocity, two attributes that make the Lockwood MK2 much stronger from a distance.

Next, consider taking the VLK LZR 7MW. The Lockwood MK2 already has a fast ADS speed, but this laser sight will help counter the speed reductions of other attachments. Furthermore, unlike other laser sight attachments, the VLK LZR 7MW provides the added benefit of a faster sprint-to-fire speed without introducing additional cons. Now, equip the HMW-20 OPTIC, providing a high magnification for precision aiming.

Your fourth attachment should be the LOCKWOOD DEFENDER COMB for improved accuracy. Finally, go ahead and equip the LONGHORN LEVER to achieve a faster fire rate. This will make it much easier to fire additional shots, a much-needed feature for armored opponents in Warzone 2.

Scoped weapons are especially susceptible to Flash and Stun Grenades that are used to blind players and turn the tide of battle. So, make sure you take Battle Hardened as your first perk to reduce the effectiveness of concussive equipment. Next, to maintain high mobility, take Double Time. This will allow you to quickly close the distance between you and your targets.

We recommend taking Focus as your Bonus Perk to accompany the HMW-20 OPTIC. Doing so will offer you flinch resistance and an increased Hold Breath duration, thus making it much easier to land your shots. Finally, make sure to run Ghost to conceal your position on the minimap, just in case enemies call in a UAV.

The best Perk Packages to use with the Lockwood MK2 in Warzone 2 are Recon and Weapon Specialist. Recon offers you Focus, which is a much-needed perk for scoped weapons. Weapon Specialist, however, comes with Overkill, allowing you to equip another primary weapon for your secondary slot.

Swap-To-Secondary Recommendations

X13 Auto best attachments, Modern Warfare 2

The Lockwood MK2 is a high-risk-high-reward weapon. Therefore, we recommend taking a backup gun to swap to for close encounters. While the X12 can be a considerable choice, the X13 Auto is more forgiving in hectic gunfights thanks to its fully automatic fire mode. Running this pistol with a large magazine is perfect for shredding opponents in the immediate vicinity and can even prove as a useful alternative when you run out of Sniper ammo.

Warzone 2 players will benefit greatly by using an Assault Rifle as their secondary weapon. The Lockwood MK2 is unable to one-shot players with three armor plates. Furthermore, it can be hard to land a follow-up shot after enemies are alerted to your presence. So, consider taking either the M4 or the TAQ-56. Either weapon can serve as a backup to swap to after landing a shot with your primary.
