The new Valheim Mistlands gameplay trailer offers a glimpse into the long-awaited new biome and all it contains. The trailer unveils a wide variety of new beasts, massive insects, and a new magic combat system. The update is now live on the public test branch, meaning that those who have access to the branch can now face the horrors of the new realm before it releases into the live version of the game.
The highly anticipated update was initially planned as a new swamp biome with several new creatures and landscapes. But the new gameplay trailer showcases lots of new insect-like creatures, numerous locations, and magic combat, which is a new feature that will come with the major update.
The trailer also shows off the new combat mechanics, crafting stations, and a wide number of new enemies. Moreover, players will also be able to make use of the new Eitr resource and craft staves to use the power of magic in their dangerous endeavors in Valheim. As seen in the trailer, the new magic combat also introduces different types of magical weapons. One of them allows the player to throw fireballs whereas the other freezes the enemy to reduce their movement speed.
It’s worth noting that the new trailer apparently contains spoilers. But those who can’t wait to dive into the Mistlands can watch the video above. And if that’s not enough, it is also possible to join the public test branch and visit the highly anticipated swampland with all of its harrowing creatures and mysteriously alluring scenery. Along with the aforementioned Eitr resource, players can also use necromancy spells to summon the aid of the dead. But, like many other good things in Valheim, this ability comes with a catch as it requires you to sacrifice a chunk of your health.
Apart from the new resources, the official patch notes share that the update will bring at least nine new creatures alongside a boss for Mistlands. Moreover, players will get to make use of 20 new crafting materials on two new crafting stations and a multitude of station extensions. With its new perils, ancient ruins, and mysterious scenery, Valheim Mistlands seems like it has filled up its arsenal to entice new and returning players. With the crossplay update that was implemented a month ago, the unforgiving world of Valheim seems more inviting than ever.
