Max Payne 3 soundtrack anniversary edition coming to vinyl

An OST is good, but an OST all by one band, showing off a distinct style that shapes the entire game, now that’s special. HEALTH, a band in the genre of ‘noise’ I’m told, are releasing a new version of the Max Payne 3 soundtrack. It will include previously unreleased tracks from the game.

No release date has been announced, but the album, titled Max Payne 3 – The Official Soundtrack (Anniversary Edition) is coming to digital streaming platforms as well as limited edition vinyl. I am of the exact age to think vinyl is cool without owning any way to play it, so I’m down.

Here’s what HEALTH had to say about it:

“When we began work on the Max Payne 3 score we could not have predicted the momentous effect it would have on the trajectory of our band and the music we make. Now, 10 years on, we are still as proud as ever to be part of the story.”

TEARS, the signature track from the game, became a HEALTH staple at their live shows, and they used it to define some of their music going forward.

Max Payne 3 itself has now hit the grand old age of a decade, and is available on PC and Xbox One/Series via backwards compatibility. Our very own Kirk McKeand replayed it this year and said “it’s great.” Wise words.
