Marvel Snap Spotlight Caches Explained

Card acquisition in Marvel Snap has been one of the biggest sore points for the player base since the game’s beta days, but a new change could shake things up and make it much easier for players to get new cards. Here’s everything you need to know about how Spotlight Caches work in Marvel Snap.

What Are Spotlight Caches in Marvel Snap?

As the name suggests, Spotlight Caches are new boxes in the Marvel Snap Collection Track that will contain a Spotlight card. Every week, there will be four Spotlight cards to look forward to, and with the rollout of this new season, the first rotation will feature Jean Grey, Knull, Living Tribunal, and a random Series 4 or 5 card.

This means that when you open a Spotlight Cache, you have a chance of getting Jean Grey, Knull, Living Tribunal, or that aforementioned random Series 4 or 5 card. If you happen to already have all those cards, you’ll get a variant instead.

One final thing to note is that you’ll get a Spotlight Cache after every 10 Reserves or so on the Collection Track.

How Is This Different From the Old System?

The main difference between the old and new card acquisition systems in Marvel Snap is that Spotlight Caches will now become your primary way of obtaining new cards. Previously, players were meant to hoard Collector’s Tokens from the weekly bundles or through opening Collector’s Reserves. You would then put these Tokens towards purchasing one of the new cards in the store.

With Spotlight Caches, however, players are instead encouraged to hoard their Caches instead and wait for a card they want to show up in the weekly Spotlight rotation. In addition to that, the introduction of Spotlight Caches also means that you’ll get fewer Tokens from the Collection Track.

While the Spotlight Cache system means that you’ll get more cards in a shorter amount of time, it’s also worth keeping in mind that this new system gives you a bit less control in targeting specific cards you may want. With it being harder to save up Tokens, you’ll now have to wait till a card you want is in the Spotlight rotation before opening your Caches.

And that’s all you need to know about how Spotlight Caches work in Marvel Snap. Are you a fan of the new system, or do you prefer saving Tokens bit by bit? Let us know in the comments down below.
