Marvel Future Revolution announces it will end service and leave storefronts in the coming months

NetMarble’s mobile adaptation of the incredibly popular Marvel universe, Marvel Future Revolution, has announced that it will close its doors on August 25th. The game has only been running for two years, and come later this Summer, it’s due to fully end support and remove itself from storefronts.

This sort of news is always a bit of a bummer regardless of the title. While I personally never partook in the open-world action role-playing of Marvel Future Revolution, it’s a safe bet to say that it did have at least somewhat of a decent following given the game was run and supported for two entire years. Now, those players are going to be out of their favourite game in only roughly three months’ time, and I always consider them when news like this does drop.

And naturally, as tends to be the case with just about shut down of a mobile game, there’s not a solid reason for why the game is ceasing service. The announcement only came with a thank you for the fans, and the closure date, and that’s about it, so all we can really do is speculate. So speculate we shall!

Typically, mobile games tend to have to cease service when they simply aren’t profitable. With a smattering of Marvel games available for cellular devices, and Marvel Snap, in particular, being a massive success, it may have just been that it was overshadowed by titles that take place in the same universe.

That’s my best guess, anyway. Either way, Future Revolution will be no more soon, but in the meantime, in-game purchasing has been entirely disabled, and you can still experience what the game has to offer within the coming months by downloading it for free at either of the links below.
