Make My MMO: Ethyrial Echoes of Yore canceled its Kickstarter

0

This week in MMO crowdfunding, Ethyrial Echoes of Yore canceled its Kickstarter, unfortunately. As we’d noted, the game was a throwback indie sandbox seeking only $63,000, but it threw in the towel on Thursday with just under $10,000 raised. Game development will continue on.

“We have decided to cancel our Kickstarter as we are currently discussing and looking into other venues of funding,” the studio wrote to fans in its Discord. “We personally always felt that taking your money to make our game never sat right with us in the first place, and we’re glad to continue without doing so. We will make sure to keep you all posted regarding what we decide to do, no matter what it is. Thank you to everyone who pledged and showed support to the project, we truly appreciate it.”

Meanwhile, Dual Universe aped EVE Plex, Pantheon prepped crafting and gathering, and Star Citizen did… whatever Star Citizen does.

Read on for more on what’s been up with MMO crowdfunding over the last few weeks, plus our roundup of all the crowdfunded MMOs we’re following!

Campaigns and crowdfunded MMOs we’re watching

Ship of Heroes

Yes, some crowdfunded MMOs most definitely do succeed. But others crash and burn, and you need to hear about the whole spectrum of games that sought your money early in exchange for the promise of input and transparency. And that’s exactly what Make My MMO does several times a month. Help us keep ’em accountable, would ya?
