Lost Ark gets a four-month roadmap for things to come in early 2024. The Amazon Games published MMO is still going strong almost two years later.

Lost Ark 2024 Roadmap Surfaces, Includes the Breaker Class

Next year’s updates for Lost Ark will be packing a punch! Yesterday, on December 18th, Roxx, the community manager, presented the four-month roadmap for the MMO. In collaboration with product manager Andy Lin and editorial head Henry Stelter, they discussed many highlights of what’s to come. Do note that the nearly 20-minute presentation is labeled as “Part 1”, so there’s more that they’re keeping quiet, at least for now.

What’s new, and what’s coming? What can Lost Ark fans expect to see from January through April? More after the jump!

The January Lost Ark Inferno

After spending a nice and chilly winter holiday season, the citizens of Arkesia will dive into a new Inferno mode Legion Raid coming to the January 2024 content patch. The leader of the Phantom Legion herself, Brelshaza, will be the newest Inferno mode difficulty raid, providing players with even more challenging fights and gates they need to brave.

Just like other Inferno tier difficulty raids, players won’t be getting gear or upgrade materials. Instead, emerging victorious through this challenge will award players with coveted titles, achievements, and stronghold decorations which will let the best Lost Ark players shine bright above the rest. Perfect for flaunting your skills!

Player levels and gear will also be equalized so that each group who attempts this difficulty will be on an equal playing field, removing gear from the equation and proving just who is the very best in Lost Ark.

February Anniversary Edition

It’s surreal to think that Lost Ark has had its Western version for almost two years now and that it will be celebrating its second anniversary in February. If Lost Ark were a toddler, it would be running around by now. But instead, we’ve had tons of content and even new “catch-up” servers sprinkled into the mix for returning players.

As a celebration, Lost Ark players will be getting a new Arkesia Festival event that will have some new co-op activities that players can partake in. The festivities look to be rotating, ensuring that things will be kept fun, fresh, and unpredictable as they journey through Arkesia. There aren’t any drop tables or other info available, but Roxx did confirm that the Western anniversary will be getting Year 2 Skins alongside the Year 5 skins that Korea just received.

Now instead of rewarding players, Valtan will also be returning to punish them with even more flame and fury. The Valtan Extreme mode difficulty will be introduced which will have Normal and Hard modes (so Extreme-Normal, and Extreme-Hard. Makes sense).

March Against the Machine

Just announced recently on the LOA Winter Showcase in Korea was the new Breaker class. The Breaker is a subset of the Martial Artist and looks to be a male version of the Scrapper. However, just like the Slayer and the Berserker under the Warrior class, these two will only share some similarities but will ultimately play quite differently from each other.

Breakers are adept at breaking faces and punching heads. They use massively oversized gauntlets, but are very agile and mobile, and can strike things a hundred times over before the foe even realizes what’s happening.

Also happening in the Lost Ark March update is the “Light of Destiny” set of main story quests. These will introduce the next chapters of the game and will essentially close off the first arc of the game. Maybe we will finally find the Lost Ark? Lastly, there will be prequel quests that will introduce the next Legion Commander raid, Thaemine.

Massively OP April

The mine will be finally introduced as a Legion Commander raid in the West in Lost Ark’s April 2024 update. The Dark Knight of Crime and Darkness will be a massive 8-player raid that will require players to be at least item level 1610 for Normal Mode difficulty (and 1630 for Hard Mode). His normal mode instance will have 3 gates (or encounters) while hard mode will up this to a total of 4 gates.

It is also worth noting that Thaemine will be released in his original difficulty, that is to say in the state that he was originally released in the Korean version. No nerfs here, as he will be operating at peak strength. A difficulty adjustment patch will be introduced later down the line to bring him more in line with what’s currently implemented in Korea.

Noah’s Ark

It looks like the first four months of 2024 will be jam-packed with stuff. Lost Ark fans will have things to look forward to. Amazon Games publishing will surely be busy, as they are also simultaneously working on the global version of Throne & Liberty and Blue Protocol.
