As Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins cut to the Lorraine studio, Ranvir Singh was there to greet them.

Lorraine has hosted the show between Monday to Thursday this week but was noticeably absent on Friday.

Ranvir didn’t address Lorraine’s absence as she explained what was coming up on the ITV show.

The ITV host will also be absent from her ITV programme next week as she takes a break for the school holidays.

She will be replaced by the likes of Ranvir or Christine Lampard, who also often fills in for the Scottish presenter.

At the end of Thursday’s show, Lorraine also failed to address her absence on Friday.

As she wrapped up the programme, the host spoke with Alison Hammond and Craig Doyle about This Morning’s line-up.

She said: “Alison and Craig are here very shortly, but have you got for us today?”

Craig replied: “Well, we got a busy one Lorraine. Our Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is live in the studio to answer your questions.”

Alison chipped in: “As well as that, he’s celebrating a career in comedy, Sir Lenny Henry tells us all about his new book.”

“Alice Beer is in the This Morning forest as she reveals this year’s must-have camping gadgets,” Craig continued.

Alison concluded: “And we will be remembering a music icon, Tina Turner.

“Sam Reuben, he’s going to be talking about her live in Los Angeles very shortly.”

“Thank you both. So much,” Lorraine praised as she bid farewell to viewers.

“That’s great, that’s all for today, Russell Watson with us tomorrow. Have a good day.”

Lorraine isn’t the only ITV presenter to take a break for the holidays.

Susanna Reid is also taking a presenting break from Good Morning Britain, and Holly Willoughby won’t be back on This Morning until June 5.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
