The Scottish broadcaster, 63, was joined on ITV’s Lorraine by presenter Lisa Snowdon.
Lisa, 51, had been discussing options available to women struggling with menopause symptoms when Lorraine explained how she herself suffered.
Lisa had been talking about some of the treatments that help ease symptoms when Lorraine praised hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
She described how much it had helped her after the condition left her feeling as though she had “lost” herself.
Lisa mentioned HRT as an option for some women when Lorraine cut in to share her own story.

“Oh honestly, the HRT patch on my bottom has changed my life,” she commented at the mention of the treatment.
She continued: “And so quickly as well! You know, it didn’t take too long.”
The presenter went on to admit: “Because I honestly thought I was losing it, I lost myself.”
“You lose yourself, don’t you?” agreed Lisa, who had opened up about her own menopause struggle.
Describing her symptoms, Lorraine went on: “Flat, no joy, nothing was going right, and then I went and got help.
“I know HRT’s not for everybody but please don’t dismiss it, you know, give it a try.”
“You can take it localised if there’s certain areas like you’re having vaginal dryness or that sort of thing, you can take hormones in different ways,” Lisa explained.
She urged viewers: “Just go to the doctor’s, get all that information, write your checklist of how you’re feeling – don’t wait too long.
“Don’t leave it too late, don’t suffer in silence either, talk about it to your friends and family.
“You know, you need advice and you need support at this time in your life.
“And then once you’ve got it and nipped it in the bud, the world is your oyster, you can do whatever you want to do!”
Agreeing, Lorraine thanked Lisa for the tips and for joining her on the show.
Last week, Lorraine left ITV colleagues Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway stunned by her outfit choice during her show.
Thursday saw Lorraine chatting to the Good Morning Britain presenters about what was coming up on the programme, but they were distracted by her red leather dress.
“Lorraine…” Ben remarked before his co-star Kate interrupted to get straight to the point: “Are you wearing red leather?”
The two gasped before applauding the presenter about how great she looked.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
