Best Buy will no longer sells DVDs or Blu-rays beginning in 2024, but before the retail chain ends an era of physical home media sales, you can grab some terrific deals on some of Disney’s biggest hits. Available for today only, Best Buy is offering several steelbook editions of Star Wars, Disney, and Pixar films at a great price.
This includes a 4K Blu-ray release of the original Star Wars trilogy, with each film being a multi-disc release that packs in a stack of behind-the-scenes extras alongside the classic sci-fi films. A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi all look better than ever thanks to the 4K upgrade, although the only minor downside here is that Disney dialed back the film grain presence. Still, they look superb thanks to HDR10 grading, as every color and detail pops out quite nicely. On top of that, you have some excellent audio enhancement going on here thanks to the Dolby Atmos support.
For Pixar fans, you can choose from steelbook editions of the company’s breakout film, Toy Story, the ka-chow action of the first Cars movie, and the more recent release of Coco. On the Disney animated side of the sale, the studio’s greatest hits across multiple decades are all here, including genre-defining releases like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Lion King, and Aladdin. Most of these films also come with digital keys so that you can watch them away from home, and the digital upgrades have made the classic animation techniques shine in these Blu-ray releases.
