Leather – How to unlock the Tannery to craft Leather

0

V Rising is the latest big MMO-RPG-PVP-survival game hybrid and it allows you to form a clan with your pals, build an immense castle, and feed off of both the land and its inhabitants in order to become more powerful. It’s a tough life for a vampire, and we all deserve to take it easy every now and then, and you’ll be able to take it much easier once you’ve got your castle set up.

After you’ve placed your Castle Heart and started building up your walls, it’s time to focus on getting the materials you need for the next big upgrade. And there is a lot you will need in order to make yourself strong enough to overcome the enemies you’re going to encounter. Just one of those early-game materials is Leather.

How to craft Leather – V Rising

Leather is necessary for a whole suite of creations in V Rising, especially in the early game when you’ve just taken down your first few bosses. Luckily you can craft it in vast quantities using a Tannery

You must fuel your Tannery with Animal Hides, and over time – with the Blood Essence in your Castle Heart to power it, of course – those Animal Hides will become nicely tanned Leather for your next creations.

How to build a Tannery – V Rising

Now you know what you need, it’s time to build one. By now you’ll know all about the Build menu, but the problem is that the Tannery can only be unlocked by defeating one of the game’s bosses.

First, you’ll need a Blood Altar, where you’ll be able to track down bosses. In the Early Access version of the game, Alpha Wolf is your first boss to fight, followed by Rufus the Foreman, Keely the Frost Archer, and Errol the Stonebreaker, each at level 20.

You will need to defeat each of these bosses in time anyway, but Keely the Frost Archer is the one that holds the Tannery. If you want Leather as soon as possible, you should focus on taking her down ahead of the other bosses.

How to loot Leather – V Rising

Of course, there is a way to acquire Leather without crafting. Enemies in the game do drop Leather when defeated. Hunt down standard human enemies and, once you’ve hunted enough of them, you’ll find they have a chance to drop Leather for you to loot.

This isn’t a lot of Leather, though, and will prove to be an insufficient amount quickly. In order to make this easy for yourself, try to acquire the Tannery as soon as possible.
