Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series launched on numerous platforms, but it turns out that development started out on Switch. That information comes from Ryo Ishida, the game’s producer in a recent issue of Lost In Cult.
Ishida also spoke about revealing Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series in a Nintendo Direct last year, stating that it’s “an excellent medium for spreading information and awareness among game fans” given the high level of anticipation for announcements. He said Bandai Namco was “very grateful for that opportunity.”
Ishida’s full words:
The […] platform we happened to start development on was Switch. Around the time we completed the Switch version, we were presented with the opportunity to put it on Nintendo Direct and, consequently, [reveal the existence of the collection] to a worldwide audience. We thought that [this was] an excellent medium for spreading information and awareness among game fans, because that’s where game announcements are actively [anticipated]. So, we were very grateful for that opportunity.
Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is out now. It contains redone versions of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil.
