Kimono Cats has been a part of Apple Arcade’s catalogue for a while now and HumaNature Studios have just announced the first expansion for the adorable feline village builder and dating sim. The update will release on June 9th, bringing a wave of new content to iOS users who’ve subscribed to the gaming service.
Just like the Kimono Cats is growing with the new expansion, so is the in-game village. Players will be tasked with building a new home for the feline protagonist and their companion alongside constructing other houses, shops, and restaurants.
Let’s not forget as players must also plant trees and maintain flowers by regularly watering them and clearing any cobwebs. In terms of gameplay, a total of 20 new quests are being added and clearing even one of them will unlock new items such as hot air balloons, arching rainbows, and a UFO for the town.
The Masturi Festival is the perfect place for a romantic date with your cat companion as couples can engage in a number of minigames. Players will also be put through multiple situations which involve cheering up a crying child, and giving a sweet to the cleaning lady, while also avoiding bad bubbles like an ugly matsuri mask and flowers with bees.
These minigames obviously grant rewards, but more importantly, they play a crucial role in winning your companion’s heart. For example, one of the games involves the cats commandeering an uncontrollable ramen cart while avoiding obstacles.
Speaking about the game, HumaNature founder Greg Johnson, said: “I was inspired to create Kimono Cats as a way to bring joy during stressful times. It celebrates all kinds of love and aims to represent our diverse team at HumaNature. Kimono Cats is a game where everyone can be themselves and play to their heart’s content.”
